We have been having some beautiful 60 degree weather up here in Portland, Oregon the last couple of days which always puts my mind towards garden preparations. Our sewer line completely broke last weekend and I am tempted to just plant my garden on top of the 150 ft strip from digging it up!
My Oliver and Emily love the trench, which thankfully is not very deep. I have told them time and time again to stay away from it, but they cannot resist. I caught them in it and asked them what they were doing since I told them to stay away. The response from Oliver was, “We were being adventurers!” Piles of dirt are just so exciting! My husband tore out our falling apart deck, and used the pieces that were still good to begin a huge play house for the kids. I am thinking of having some smaller versions of these pea tee-pees outside the play house.
What I wouldn’t give for a cute potting bench. Before I would just sit on the the deck- which is now the playhouse. I’m still not sure if it one of those things I would build just to not use it often, but it sure is cute!
We have chickens, so last year I did something like this, though not as cute, to keep the chickens out. Now that the sewer line is officially replaced, I need to figure out a permanent home for my garden.
Once we repour concrete for our patio, I am most certainly doing this. I need to think of any other ideas that I could stencil out on the patio.
Unfortunately, I could not locate the true sources for any of these projects. If you happen to find them, let me know so I can include the link.
