My interest in tiny spaces comes from being in a family with five children. If I were to have any space to myself, it was up to me to curate it. My best spot was the second limb up on the left of the large tree that separated my family’s rural property from the field owned by Cedar Point Cemetery. Ironically, Cedar Point is also the name of a large roller coaster park that is also in Ohio. We liked to say about the cemetery, “People are just DYING to get in there!” Nothing like a pun to bring a family together.
I have stayed in a few RV’s but never enjoyed the feel of it. When I found out about Tiny Homes, and saw their beauty through Jay Schafer’s The Small House Book, I was hooked. I am partial to the timeless, classic designs whereas my husband is fond of the more artistic and unique looks. This is a good book to start with as he explains the history and theory of living tiny as well as suggestions for design and functionality. We are excited to pursue our Tiny House dreams!
